An Elopement by the sea!

By Real Weddings No Comments

Kirsten and Max had only one priority – a sea view!

After deciding to get married and wanting to do it soon, Kirsten and Max’s wedding planning began. First on the list was to find the perfect venue, and then everything else would fall into place! And that was precisely what happened. Their only priority was a sea view, and when they found us having never been to Porthleven and after only seeing pictures of our beautiful venue online, they booked!

“We absolutely loved the stunning location and on contacting Samantha were completely sold on her relaxed and friendly style. We were hardly surprised when she said she had limited availability, but when she suggested a date only six weeks away, we jumped at it!”

A magical venue they were blown away by the sheer beauty and remoteness of Beacon Crag

When they arrived, they said the venue was magical; they were blown away by the sheer beauty and remoteness of Beacon Crag. On the day, Kirsten and Max treated their guests to a pre-wedding picnic by Kerra’s Catering, a delicious selection of excellent quality local food, the perfect fit to their relaxed wedding theme. When it was time for the ceremony, Kirsten emerged from her room looking stunning in a boho lace Rosa Clara short-sleeved dress with an open back and a mid-length train. Their small intimate ceremony was held outside looking out to sea, the sun shone, and it was simply perfection. All was captured by one of our recommended photographers, Thomas Frost photography; his reportage wedding photography was the perfect style for them.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests all walked into Porthleven for their wedding breakfast at KotaKai, where everyone could have whatever they wanted on the menu before heading back to Beacon Crag for wedding cake!

Helen and Scott’s Wild Wedding

By Real Weddings No Comments

Beacon Crag purely by chance!

Like so many couples, Helen and Scott’s wedding plans changed time and time again due to Covid. And so, after having two weddings cancelled, Helen and Scott decided to still have a holiday on what should have been their honeymoon. It was purely by chance that they drove past us here at Beacon Crag and fell in love with our views. After checking us out on Instagram and being blown away with the pictures and the options we offer within days, they booked their dates to elope!

“We contacted Sam to find out more. Sam was amazing, full of knowledge about local suppliers and very flexible with options for the day, and within days we had booked a date.”

Express their love…

After the difficulty of having two wedding dates cancelled, Helen and Scott soon realised that what was really important to them. To express their love to one another and starting a new chapter in their life.

“We just couldn’t wait to be married.”

The Day

On the day, Scott and Helen had breakfast in bed before getting ready. Helen spent the morning being pampered by Sjani from Ione Makeup & Hair, who made her feel like a true princess and helped her into her beautiful Oleg Cassini wedding dress. Helen had brought this particular dress when she thought she was having a church wedding and was unable to give it up even though they had decided to elope! Scott wore a grey, and brown checked Next three-piece suit and burnt orange bow tie.

They had an intimate ceremony, followed by celebration drinks, photos on the rocks, more celebration drinks, an amazing three-course meal, followed by giggles and photos in the wild! Their chosen elopement photographers the truly brilliant Enchanted Brides.

Their favourite parts of the day

We loved every second. Waking up and having breakfast in bed. The beautiful intimate ceremony, followed by celebration drinks, photos on the rocks. An amazing three-course meal with a fantastic sea view. Giggles and photos in the wild! It totally summed us up, wondering over rocks and up hills in our wedding attire, laughing and joking.

“A day we will never forget!”

Emma and Dave’s Wild Blessing Ceremony

By Real Weddings No Comments

Eloping to Cornwall was a last-minute decision for Emma and Dave!

Having discovered our venue on the Cornish coast, a county they both love they booked straight away. It was our panoramic views of the sea from every window plus a hot tub that really sold us!

The vibe of the day was natural, outdoors Emma and Dave chose to have an intimate ceremony on the cliffs conducted by Wild Blessing Ceremonies.

On the day Emma brought Hollywood glamour to Cornwall! She looked stunning in a beautiful silk of white/peach Bardot style dress with a slit up the leg and carried a beautiful bouquet by Sweet Pea Floral Studio. Their day was captured perfectly by Enchanted Brides, a photographer we just love to recommend to our couples.

In Emma and Dave’s own words…

“The venue setting was just perfect – private, right on the seafront, with every window having a beautiful view of the sea! Plus they had a hot tub, so we were sold. And Sam (the venue owner) made it so easy for us with everything we were asking for – nothing was a problem.”
